Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is set to lead a political rally in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, today, with Governor George Natembeya promising a major mobilisation shortly after President William Ruto concludes his address in the town.
Ruto is expected to conclude his tour of Trans Nzoia today, Friday.
Sifuna’s rally will be a political counter-event to the President’s visit.
Natembeya on Friday confirmed that Sifuna, the leader of the Linda Mwananchi faction, would lead what he described as a ‘sanitisation’ and ‘fumigation’’ exercise.
“The Sixth President of the Republic of Kenya, Edwin Watenya Sifuna, will be in Trans Nzoia today,” Natembeya declared.
“Immediately after Ruto addresses the people in town and leaves, we shall take over Kitale Town with sukuti and dance as we sanitize and fumigate the area.”
According to Natembeya, Linda Mwananchi faction will take over town with music and dance immediately after President leaves
The announcement sets the stage for a political showdown in Kitale, with Ruto expected to address residents before the Sifuna-led group stages its rally.
